Project Overview
McMahon Services were contracted by SA Water, to construct a new amenities building at their Port Lincoln depot from structure through to finishes. The Building Services team showcased their diverse skills-set completing concrete, carpentry, linings, roofing, hydraulic services, painting, tiling and metal works.
The scope was as follows:
- Concrete works
- Detailed excavation
- Pour concrete slab
- Provision of set downs
Wall and roof framing:
- Construction of external wall framing
- Installation of WB1 bracing
- Installation of wall insulation
- Supply and install of roof trusses and roof framing
- Supply and installation of verandah framing
Ceilings and linings:
- Supply and install of FPB type ceiling
- Supply and install of FC type soffit lining
- Supply and install of wall linings, including insulation
Carpentry:
- Supply and install of steel door frames
- Supply and install of 42mm external solid core doors
- Supply and install of 35mm internal solid core doors
- Supply and installation of door hardware
- Supply and install of all sundry hardware, fixtures and fittings – Lockers, benches, toilet roll holders, shower curtains, semi recessed waste bins and soap dispensers
Painting:
- Painting of walls and ceilings
- Painting of eaves soffit linings
- Painting of doors and frames
External cladding:
- Supply and install of roof and wall cladding
- Supply and install of all required flashings
- Supply and install of gutters and downpipes
- Supply and install of insulation blanket
- Supply and install of external Scyon cladding
Floor coverings:
- Supply and installation of floor vinyl
- Tiling – wall and floor
- Supply and install of wall and floor tiling
- Waterproofing
- Grouts, screeds and glues
Windows and glazing:
- Supply and install of windows
- Install of laminated glass glazing
- Supply and install of wire screens
- Supply and install of security screens
Toilet partitions:
- Supply and install of laminate toilet partition systems
Joinery:
- Supply and install of joinery units J1, J7 and J8
Electrical Services:
- Connection to distribution board DB3A
- Supply and install of distribution board located within new amenities building
- Power cabling reticulation and terminations, including outlets
- Lighting cabling reticulation and terminations, including fittings and switching
- Provision of electrical supplied for mechanical services
Hydraulic Services:
- Drainage and stormwater reticulation
- Supply, installation and connection of rain water tanks
- Drainage connection to existing service
- Hot and cold reticulation, including connection to existing service
- Supply and installation of solar hot water system
The project also called for additional services including; the connection of a new sewer line from the new building to the existing depot; water connection to the new building; and the installation of toilet and shower partitions and timber screens.
