Fire Damage Demolition – QLD

After the worst house fire in Queensland’s history claiming 11 lives, McMahon Services arrived on site and was fully operational three days later. The team erected 200um plastic lined scaffolding to three sides of the dilapidated house with a walkway at six metres, from which continuous dust suppression measures were applied. The house was then deconstructed with a 22 tonne excavator in just under two hours, and was then systematically loaded into lined trucks that had to pass over a purpose built decontamination unit to exit the site. The team worked professionally and efficiently despite the ever-present media and general public.

Damage to Major Gas Main – SA

Immediate support was required for a major gas main undermined by the natural force of water in Christies Creek. Urgent requirements included support to the main and removal of a concrete slab situated directly above the main without causing damage and increasing pressure, or compromising the heritage listed bridge structure upstream. Due to its emergency status an on-site meeting was promptly arranged and works began the following day.
