Our History

Construction services have been the lifeblood of the McMahon family for generations. McMahon Services celebrated its first 20 years in business in 2010 – one of many key milestones in its history.

1990 David and Andrew McMahon establish McMahon Services with 12 staff in Dry Creek (SA)

1990 Port Pirie office established to provide industrial services to the lead smelter – a contract still held today

1991 Australian National Rail remediation work taking us across the Nullarbor and Alice Springs line

1992 Extensive asbestos removal and demolition works at the Port Augusta Power Station

1995 Demolition, remediation and excavation of the former Carlton United Brewery site in the Brisbane CBD

1997 Demolition of the Stokes Hill Power Station – single largest demolition project undertaken in the NT

1998 Demolition of the former John Martins building – single largest asbestos / demolition project undertaken in SA

2004 Darwin office established

2005 Brisbane office established

2006 Karratha office established

2012 Delivered the first ever charge cutting demolition in South Australia

2014 Intract Australia was established, 51% Indigenous owned enterprise

2015 Groundwater Treatment Solutions was established as a business unit of McMahon Services
