RAAF Base Edinburgh Buildings 806 and 257 Works

Project Overview

The Department of Defence required remediation works on Buildings 806 and 257 located at the RAAF Base Edinburgh, South Australia. Building 257 required a number of upgrade and maintenance works including upgrades to the existing air-conditioning system, installation of new electrical services, replacement of carpet, repair of existing brickwork and new paint finishes. Building 806 required the installation of new Dampalon roof cladding to two existing canopy structures and installation of new strip drain system.

Building 806 works included the installation of 50m of a stainless steel ACO strip drain to existing exposed aggregate concrete walkway and installation of new exposed aggregate concrete around strip drains to match existing. Other works included the supply and installation of new structural steel framework on two existing canopy structures to support new polycarbonate cladding, and the installation of stainless-steel box gutter and downpipes for two canopy structures. Works were conducted adjacent to a fully operational dentist.

Building 257 works included new mechanical services to suit existing ductwork system, repair of brickwork, replacement of timber fascia, installation of new floor coverings and painting Works were carried out in a 24/7 operational building requiring that power could not be shut down at any time, with some sections of works conducted under asbestos conditions.
