Site Manager – Building & Construction

The Building & Construction group delivers commercial and industrial building, fit-outs and maintenance projects. Our commercial building team delivers projects ranging from $1m – $50m.

With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our Building and Construction Services team to work on our various projects based in SA. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, your primary responsibility will be reviewing, initiating and managing the project and employees, ensuring successful project delivery. This is a multi-disciplined role requiring experience in civil construction, demolition and building services.

About the role:

The role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Leading and managing internal and external contractors
  • Preparing RFI, Notices of Delay, variations and EOT submissions
  • Providing weekly reports to customers and project manager
  • Ensuring compliance with customers and company safety, quality and business processes.
  • Writing and reviewing JSA’s and risk assessments
  • Reading, interpreting and communicating plans effectively to stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions for the project
  • Building positive relationships with internal & external stakeholders such as customers, project team, management, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Managing cost control, reporting, procurement and contract management

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a site manager position working on 10 Mil + projects
  • Excellent time management and people management skills
  • High attention to detail and safety-focused approach to work
  • Experience managing construction scheduling
  • Certificate III in Carpentry or relevant trade experience
  • Problem-solving and innovation skills as an individual and as a team player
  • Construction White Card and Current driver’s license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong commitment to Work Health & Safety and Environmental standards
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to obtain DCSI and Australian Defence Security Clearance
  • Senior first aid training
  • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fit for work assessment
  • Experience using Procore and Pronto or similar related Project Management & ERP programs (Desirable).
  • Ability to occasionally travel within South Australia to our regional construction sites. In return, you will be provided with additional LAFHA (living away from home allowance)
