About The Role :

Responsible for strategically managing various aspects of McMahon Services’ projects from project contract award, through to the execution and close-out, the Senior Project Manager will effectively manage people and processes to deliver a series of projects on time, within budget, and with the desired outcomes aligned to the company’s objectives. This role maintains a strong relationship with the clients and contractors ensuring sustainable collaboration.

Key Responsibilities will include : 

  • Monitor and review progress reports and ensure staffing and financial schedules align with the project.
  • Review subcontractors and support contracts management.
  • Manage contractors and other project vendors and services suppliers.
  • Prepare RFI, Notices of Delay, Variations and EOT submissions and submit progress claims as per individual project contractual terms and conditions.
  • Request and prepare Subcontract Agreements and manage/review retention releases.
  • Review and approve supplier/subcontractor invoices, including capturing retention to be held.
  • Supervise review processes to ensure subcontractor compliance.
  • Ensure warranty and dispute claims for the project are addressed and legislative and regulatory compliance is followed.
  • Manage project team for effective project delivery to plan, budget and WHSEQ outcomes.
  • Manage and monitor cost control against budget and productivity against project plan.
  • Ensure systems, processes and project tools are in place to identify significant project delivery risks and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Demonstrated 10 years experience in major construction/infrastructure project delivery preferably in the Civil Engineering space.
  • Experience in Contract administration, construction scheduling and cost/cash flow management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and time-management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in project management suite of software (e.g., Microsoft Professional suite, MS Project, Primavera), ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle e-business) and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore).
  • Have strong Leadership, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Have a good understanding of Australian Standards (AS).
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
