Due to growth across our group, we are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join our Northern Territory Team. Reporting to the Estimating & Procurement Manager, your primary responsibility will be managing the bid process and leading the bid team for allocated tenders (Comprising Building & Civil).This role would also required developing tenders to a consistently high standard and meeting company expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Leadership of the bid team
  • Management of bids/tenders to ensure they are developed to a consistently high standard
  • Employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to help interpret and respond to bid/tender requirements
  • Establish a strong relationship with the pre-contract team to ensure the identified opportunities are understood and pursued
  • Devise successful strategies to develop winning bids/tenders, considering the companies operating and profit margins required
  • Research, write and/or check all proposals
  • Work with the key members of the project team and the client organisations to obtain the information required to compile the bid
  • Assess and address the technical and commercial risks relating to ongoing bids
  • Oversee the team during the bid process, ensuring internal deadlines are met and bids are submitted on time

About You:

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Formal tertiary education in Building Construction or Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years experience within the building or civil construction industry, or related industry experience
  • Proven experience leading successful bids/tenders using best practices approaches
  • Demonstrated experience managing a team
  • Experience in negotiation and client relationship building accompanied with a sound understanding of contract management and cost optimisation
  • Defence bid/tending experience desirable
  • Competency in administration suite of software (eg. Microsoft professional suite)
