With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking a Bid Manager to join our Civil & Infrastructure team to work on our various projects. Your primary responsibility will be managing the bid process and leading the bid team. You will also look after the development of bids/tenders submitted to the customers to ensure a high level of success in being awarded the tender. This role also requires ensuring that the tenders are developed to a consistently high standard, meeting the expectations of McMahon Services.

Key Responsibilities:

This will include, but is not limited to:

  • Leading and managing the bid team.
  • Managing bids/tenders to ensuring are developed to a consistently high standard.
  • Interpreting and responding to bid/tender requirements
  • Establishing a strong relationship with the pre-contract team
  • Planning successful strategies to develop winning bids/tenders
  • Research current and future market trends and write and/or check all proposals.
  • Working with relevant internal and external stakeholders to obtain the information required to compile the bid.
  • Assessing and addressing the technical and commercial risks relating to ongoing bids.
  • Optimising, managing bidding budgets and negotiating with specialist suppliers and/or subcontractors.
  • Overseeing the team during the bid process, ensuring internal deadlines are met, and bids are submitted on time.
  • Attending the handover meeting from tendering to delivery if the bid is successful

About You:

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business or Finance
  • Current Australian driver’s license
  • Demonstrated experience in civil construction or related industry success in delivering to financial targets within the timeframe
  • Proven experience leading successful bids/tenders using best practices approaches
  • Experience in negotiation and sound understanding of contract management and cost optimisation
  • Government and Defence bid/tendering experience desirable
  • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fit for work assessment
  • High degree of attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
