Project Overview
McMahon Services were engaged by Tagara Builders to undertake part in the redevelopment and extension project of the South Coast District Health Service, in Encounter Bay, South Australia.
Once completed, the redevelopment will deliver an additional 50 car parking spaces, a therapy courtyard for children and people with disabilities, as well as a flexible design to enable after hours use by community and local health self-help groups. The extension will see the South Coast District Hospital, Victor Harbor Private Hospital, Community Health Services and the Southern Fleurieu Community Health Services be accessed via a shared entrance, and all services will be housed under the same roof.
Due to the project being completed whilst the hospital remained operational, construction occurred in several stages, enabling existing services to continue uninterrupted and any inconvenience was kept to a minimum.
McMahon Services were responsible for the supply and installation of the following:
- Revolution True Oak deep corrugated Colorbond Ultra roof sheeting;
- Rev-Klip 700 Colorbond Ultra sheeting to canopy roofs;
- Bradford Safebridge purlin / insulation system;
- Colorbond Ultra box gutters, eaves gutters and all associated rainwater accessories;
- Danpalon multi-cell roof canopies including all anodised aluminum connections and cappings;
- Kingspan KS900 architectural wall panelling including Concealed Fix Cranked Corners.
McMahon Services were the first contractor in South Australia to install the Kingspan Evo Concealed Fixed Cranked Corners, the corners offer architects the ideal solution for insulated preformed corners. They combine insulation continuity with aesthetic design to offer an alternative solution to traditional corner flashing’s.
The McMahon Services team worked closely with the architects and builders to ensure the Cranked Corners blended with the concealed fix panels and design of the building structure.
