State Manager – Western Australia
Phil has been a part of the building, demolition, remediation and earthmoving sectors of the construction industry for over 35 years.
He is highly regarded throughout the industry, particularly by statutory and other approval authorities, where his advice is regularly sought on updating industry standards and practices.
Phil joined the McMahon Group in 1977 as a Labourer / Operator working his way up to Foreman and Project Manager. In 1990, Phil was appointed as Operations and Demolition Manager, taking responsibility for all demolition projects from tendering to completion and the analysis of all project logistics, including safe work methodologies, as well as plant, materials and human resource management.
In 2003, following the successful completion of a series of projects in metropolitan Adelaide and country South Australia, Phil was appointed to the position of National Operations Manager, including a seat on the McMahon Services Board.
Phil’s knowledge and experience in the construction industry is unrivalled, providing technical guidance in all disciplines for large-scale industrial and commercial site redevelopments.
Phil has worked with remote Indigenous communities over the past 15 years and has good working relationships with remote communities in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Phil also has vast experience in remote area projects and logistics having managed many varied projects in some of the remotest parts of Australia such as the environmental cleanup of the Port Augusta to Kalgoorlie and Tarcoola to Alice Springs railway lines, Maralinga remediation, Wittenoom township demolition and The Federal Government’s Strategic Indigenous Housing and Infrastructure Program (SIHIP).
