Manager - WHSEQ, SA

Craig commenced with the McMahon Services’ WHSEQ Division in February 2015 as the National WHSEQ Manager overseeing all department activities, with a key focus on project site operations and maintenance of the strong safety culture within the organisation.

Although commencing his career as a diesel mechanic, the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act 1986, presented Craig with the opportunity to pursue a career as a Workplace Health and Safety advocate.

Craig’s strong interest in investigative methods led him to spend 24 years working in the South Australian Government WHS Inspectorate as a Principal Inspector and Manager of Country Operations.

During this time, Craig had exposure to the complete spectrum of Workplace Health and Safety incidents. He has spent time investigating incidents in some of the harshest environments across Australia, including Construction / Demolition, Oil & Gas processing (On / Offshore), Drilling, Defence, Rail / Road Transport, Manufacturing, Mining, and Iron Ore / Lead Smelting operations.

Craig possesses extensive skills and experience in the management and investigation of workplace incidents, with high level technical knowledge in the interpretation and application of Work Health and Safety, Petroleum and Dangerous Goods legislation, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.

Since taking the reigns of the Department, Craig has primarily been involved in the systematic review and development of the companies WHSEQ policies and procedures and brings renewed vigor in the continued development of McMahon Services WHSEQ procedures to keep abreast of legislation and ensure best practice.

Craig is supported by his capable team of safety professionals who are always proactive to support McMahon Services’ and our clients to achieve and exceed project WHSEQ requirements.
