McMahon Services Secures Port Wakefield and Joy Baluch Upgrades

McMahon Services are pleased to announce that we are part of the winning consortium for the Port Wakefield to Port Augusta Regional Projects Alliance (RPA).

The Federal Government and the South Australian Marshall Government announced the successful tenderer, a consortium of CPB Contractors, Aurecon and GHD for the design and construct of the $200 million Joy Baluch AM Bridge Duplication and the $124.5 million Port Wakefield Overpass and Highway Duplication.

The Joy Baluch AM Bridge is an important freight and passenger link to access the Upper Spencer Gulf in Port Augusta. The project will increase passenger and vehicle safety, improve connectivity and reliability for freight, local community and tourist vehicles, improve travel times, provide safer overtaking opportunities and provide efficient and reliable travel.

The Port Wakefield Overpass and Highway Duplication will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion for all road users, particularly during peak travel times and public holidays, and improve safety and freight productivity along the National Land Transport Network.

McMahon Services is thrilled to be a sub-alliance partner with CPB to deliver this major project. We have been integrated into the CPB team to tender the project over the last six months. The project is due to commence immediately with construction commencing on site in the second half of 2020.

This will mean a significant amount of work for McMahon Services including our regional offices in the north and also Intract Australia.
