South Australia’s new professional learning academy for teachers, known as Orbis, was officially launched at its new state of the art Hindmarsh centre on Wednesday 10th April 2019, officially opened by Hon John Gardner, South Australia’s Minister for Education.

Orbis, named for the collective nature of the education system, will provide a comprehensive program of professional learning for the state’s public school and preschool educators to develop teaching expertise and educational leadership.

McMahon Services’ Building Division led the fit out works for the project, completing high quality architectural finishes in record time and on schedule, delivered in 3 months.

Fit out works included; demolition, partition walls and glazed walls, asbestos removal, floor repairs, feature wall and ceiling panelling, doors and hardware, ceilings, floor coverings, joinery, kitchen equipment, painting, stair modifications, motorised blinds, structural steel modifications and auto doors, electrical and data, mechanical services, hydraulics and fire services.

The event was attended by Building Services Manager James Wilson, Project Manager Mike Adler and Site Supervisor Simon Pluck. The project is an excellent example of the high quality architectural works McMahon Services can deliver in tight delivery timeframes.
