Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for strategically managing various aspects of McMahon Services’ projects from contract award through to execution and close-out. The role effectively manages people and processes to deliver the projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to the company’s objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a hands-on approach in leading and managing the project team.
  • Manage contractors and other project vendors and services, suppliers.
  • Apply analytic ability in cost control against budget, monitoring productivities against project plan, and reliably forecasting costs to complete.
  • Manage and maintain strong contractor and client relationships

The Project Manager has a great opportunity to closely work with a dynamic team of project engineers, graduate project engineers, estimators, and construction team and provide them with the project management skills and guidance on the best project solutions and practices. The role requires building a strong sustainable relationship internally and externally with various stakeholders. You will plan your week to deliver efficient service to the projects assigned to you. The support culture is strong should you find yourself overwhelmed or unsure about managerial and process matters.

Our projects may require you to travel throughout South Australia and potentially other states to ensure consistency of engineering and design processes and practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience (PM) / 10 years experience (Snr PM) in major construction/infrastructure project delivery preferably in the Civil Engineering space
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Project Management
  • Extensive knowledge of the engineering industry and Australian Standards
  • Experience in contract administration and management
  • Proficient in project management suite of software (e.g., Microsoft professional suite, MS Project, Primavera), ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, Oracle e-business), and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore)
