About the Role

The Civil Manager has a great opportunity to closely work with a dynamic team of project managers, project engineers, estimators, and construction team and provide them with the technical engineering skills and guidance on the best engineering and design solutions and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing all internal and external engineering and design works across various teams
  • Developing effective customer solutions whilst controlling overall risk levels
  • Managing design team on a day-to-day basis
  • Ensuring outcomes to the relevant AS standards during engineering feasibility studies, concept development, detail engineering, construction, and Handover.

The role requires building a strong sustainable relationship internally and externally with various teams. You will plan your week to deliver efficient service to the projects assigned to you. The support culture is strong should you find yourself overwhelmed or unsure about managerial and process matters.

Our projects may require you to travel throughout Northern Territory and potentially other states to ensure consistency of engineering and design processes and practices.

Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience, preferably including major construction projects
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering
  • Preference to be a Chartered Engineer
  • Formal or informal education in Project Management
  • In-depth experience in using civil and structural engineering, design management and delivery and managing teams, and developing/ mentoring staff
  • Wide and well-established connections with prominent consultancy firms
  • Extensive knowledge of the engineering industry and Australian Standards
  • Experience in using general office software applications (e.g., Microsoft Suite), Engineering and Design applications, and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore).
