With over 30 years’ experience in the demolition, asbestos removal, site remediation and earthmoving, David has established McMahon Services as the leading organisation in these fields. 

David has been instrumental in developing the professional team responsible for project tendering and management, and attaining the respected position McMahon Services holds in the construction industry.

David was one of the front-runners in establishing the procedures and techniques for the safe removal of asbestos in buildings, working in close liaison with the South Australian Department of Labour.  He also over spent 2 years as the employer representative on the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission Standards Development Standing Committee.

Under David’s direction McMahon Services has gained third party accreditations to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Systems), AS/NZS ISO 14001: 2004 (Environmental Management Systems) and AS/NZS 4801:2001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems), which covers all activities undertaken by McMahon Services.

As Project Director for topical construction projects such as demolition of the former John Martins building (12 levels, 26 weeks – $5.6 million), and the Rehabilitation of Islington Railyards (12hA highly contaminated site – $6.5 million), David has proved his ability to achieve outstanding results for all stakeholders.

In 2011 David sat as President of the Master Builders Association of South Australia, the peak body representing all sectors of the building and construction industry.

In November 2011 David was also honoured as winner of the Services Category at the National Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
