We’re looking for an experienced, highly-motivated, and diligent WHSEQ Yard Manager to join our growing team.

Based at Dry Creek and reporting to the National WHS Operations Manager, this role involves the management of yard related work activities and the implementation of the Work Health Safety Environmental Quality program for yard operations and personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, coordinate, and mentor workers in the Company’s safety program
  • Coordinate hazard management activities, yard inductions and coordinate inhouse and external training for Dry Creek yard personnel, including weekly toolbox meetings and monthly site management meetings
  • Undertake risk assessment for plant, attachments and equipment as well as incident investigations and ensure all identified preventative measures are implemented
  • Conduct inspections of the yard and associated facilities to maintain good housekeeping and safety practices
  • Maintain and promote the use of the Site Improvement Plan(s)
  • Assist in the management of hazardous chemicals and safety data sheets
  • Ensure electrical appliance testing is being conducted and records are maintained
  • Develop and maintain yard vehicle and pedestrian movement plans and safety signage
  • Coordinate vehicle and plant inductions
  • Undertake the role of Emergency Warden and ensure Emergency Response Plans are in place

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
  • Mechanical trade or engineering qualification(s) are desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in a site safety role preferably in the building and construction industry
  • First Aid and Chief Warden Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft office)
  • Able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
