Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Civil Supervisor works closely with the site managers, project managers, and the construction team on various project sites to ensure high-quality project delivery. This role assists in coordinating site activities and liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. As the Civil Supervisor, you are to ensure various tasks are carried out in line with work specifications and in compliance with all relevant legislation.

The Civil Supervisor has a great opportunity to closely work with a dynamic team of site managers, project managers, project engineers, and the construction teams, and assist in providing guidance on the best engineering solutions and best practices. The role requires building a strong sustainable relationship with the clients and contractors. You will plan your week to deliver efficient service to the projects assigned to you. The support culture is strong should you find yourself overwhelmed or unsure about managerial and process matters.

Our projects may require you to travel throughout New South Wales and potentially other states to ensure consistency of engineering and design processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision of live project sites, working closely with the Project team in order to ensure compliance with client and McMahon Services’ processes
  • Ensure project is meeting program and appropriately resource management
  • Supervision of site personnel and subcontractors
  • Writing and reviewing JSA’s and risk assessments
  • Ability to capture all site works into a detailed site diary
  • Problem-solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive attitude and a ‘lead by example’ motivator
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Flexibility to work interstate as required

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Construction trade qualified
  • Minimum of 5 years construction industry experience
  • Experience in managing construction sites
  • Experience in construction scheduling and constructability
  • Competency in basic suite of software (e.g., Microsoft professional suite)

To be successful in this role, it is essential that you are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, and have strong organisational / planning, verbal, and written communication skills. You must also have the ability to follow directions and demonstrate innovative problem solving as an individual and as part of the team.
