Site Manager – Engineering & Projects

About the Role:

With the company showing continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our Engineering and Projects team to work on various multidiscipline, turnkey projects. The role presents as a great opportunity to complement our current team and gain exposure to a wide range of industries which include:

Reporting to the Construction Manager, your primary responsibility will be autonomous site management and project delivery of allocated projects, the execution of projects that exceed customer’s expectations, management of project team, delivery of projects ensuring compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures, maintaining a site presence (when required) and lead safety culture, and proactively report project progress.

Responsibilities of the role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Lead and manage all works on site to ensure efficient and effective delivery of works
  • Plan team’s work to meet required timelines and outputs through prioritising activities against daily project schedule.
  • Arrange plant, labour, and material resources for incorporation into the works.
  • Complete works in alignment with client’s specifications and requirements
  • Ensure warranty and dispute claims for the project are addressed as soon as practical.
  • Oversee subcontractor works to ensure compliance with specification.
  • Review project site reports, designs, and drawings to ensure all project requirements as detailed are completed.
  • Capture all site works into a detailed site diary and communicate to the project team.
  • Ensure tools, equipment and materials on site are stored appropriately and that necessary calibrations are undertaken in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
  • Work collaboratively with Clients, Project Management and Engineering teams to proactively identify problems early and provide optimal solutions to project issues.
  • Drive short term program to meet overall project program, ensuring required tools and materials are readily available on site.
  • Monitor works progression against program and notify Project Manager of potential variations and extension of time claims and delays.
  • Support in the negotiation of contracts and the securing of permits and licences necessary to complete the works.
  • Execute works on site adhering to contractual obligations.
  • Accountable for the efficient and effective procurement of all site related purchases.
  • Monitor site costs ensuring efficient use of materials and time resources.
  • Coach, support, motivate and develop a positive safety culture across the business in line with Safety Certainty 2.0 principles.
  • Undertake works in accordance with quality control procedures in line with project management plans ensuring that work is carried out to a high standard at all times.
  • Ensure toolbox meetings and other communications relevant to the project occur as required.
  • Work closely with the Project Team to ensure compliance with Company and Client processes and procedures.

This role would suit someone with demonstrated experience as a Site Manager working on projects, with 10+ years of industry experience

About you:

 To be successful in the role, you will need;

  • Experience in construction scheduling and constructability.
  • Experience in delivery of large scale construction projects.
  • Team player, flexible and adaptable to changing needs and demands.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement.
  • Capacity to manage high stress situations.
  • Ability to read, understand and articulate project documentation such as drawings and contract documents into site instructions for personnel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
  • Competency in basic suite of software (e.g., Microsoft professional suite).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft professional suite including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, ERP systems (e.g., Pronto, Oracle e-business) and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore)
  • Knowledge of construction processes, health, and safety procedures.
  • Problem-solving and innovation skills
  • Construction White Card and Current driver’s license.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time and people management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong commitment to Work Health & Safety and Environmental standards.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Experience in Procore and Pronto or similar programs would be advantageous
  • Must be able to pass a Drug and Alcohol and Fit for work assessment
  • Ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearance
  • Ability to travel based on project requirements. In return you will be provided with additional LAFHA (living away from home allowance)
