We are currently seeking a professional and experienced Estimator to join our civil engineering team, based at our Head Office in Dry Creek.

Reporting to the Business Manager – Civil Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing first principle estimates and assisting on leading bids for challenging and diverse civil projects.

Work Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Adelaide, SA

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will include but not limited to:

  • Preparation of project “Take-offs”
  • Cost estimating and preparation of all relating tender documents
  • Submission of detailed bids
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers and other key stakeholders
  • Provide detailed handovers to the civil project team
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Problem solving and innovation as an individual and as part of a team
  • You will also help mentor junior estimators and you’ll celebrate in the success of the team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in earthworks, roads, bridges and services estimates
  • Proficient computing skills including word, advanced excel, powerpoint and preferably CAD and
    quantity take-off software such as Bluebeam or Civil 3D
  • The ability to work to deadlines and take ownership of your projects
  • High level of interpersonal skills including a good phone manner
  • Established relationships with a network of South Australian suppliers and subcontractors

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, take pride in their work, have attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. You must be willing to take advice and direction and be prepared to provide valuable input.
