To achieve this, we have created the MAC Learning Academy.

MAC Learning Academy (MAC) is McMahon Services’ central learning and development centre, responsible for the development and delivery of all training requirements across all McMahon Services companies and business units.

MAC Learning Academy training programs are designed to provide our personnel with the building blocks to excel in their positions.

At the centre of what we offer through the MAC Learning Academy are our R.I.S.E values, focusing on reinforcing our culture of undertaking everything we do with Reputation, Integrity, Safety, and Excellence. To strive to continuously achieve these values, MAC Learning Academy training modules fall into a suite of three learning and development programs that form the foundation of our overall strategy.

Achieve

The ‘Achieve’ program provides critical training in areas of workplace health and safety, environmental protection, and quality control, in line with our Business Management Systems and Safety Certainty 2.0 principles, to help you achieve your goals safely.

Company Inductions for corporate, operations, and project staff tailored to their roles.

Meet your MAC Academy team

Sarah Townsend

Manager – Learning & Development (MAC Academy)

Having spent five years developing the Company’s proposals content and introducing streamlined and consistent processes, Sarah was selected to manage McMahon Services’ newly formed in-house Learning Academy (MAC).

Sarah is responsible for the continual development and implementation of a robust learning and development strategy for the Company, which includes a combination of new learning experiences, exposure to coaching and mentoring opportunities, and access to fully tailored educational programs.

MAC Learning Academy has a few functions:

Digital Learning Modules

Development of digital learning modules which will be accessed via Sitepass. A few modules are already on Sitepass, and more will be added progressively over the coming months.

Facilitation of Face to Face Training

We will work with subject matter experts from various business units and shared services to provide face-to-face where digital learning is not feasible.

Development of Career Pathways

Working with Human Resources, MAC will develop a career pathway structure for various streams commencing with Engineering, Site Management, and Project Management and expanding into other key areas in the near future.

Formalising Minimum Training and Competency Requirements

Ensuring our teams on the ground have been provided appropriate training, relevant to the tasks they perform through identifying and supporting the tracking of Training, Competency, Tickets, and Licencing through Sitepass.

Supporting Training Programs

Working with Human Resources and Business Units, MAC will support Graduate and Work Experience Programs, providing our newest teams members access to training developed to fast track their career progression.

Training modules being developed will fall under three programs:

Achieve – Foundation modules that provide critical training in workplace health and safety, environmental protection, and quality control in line with our Business Management Systems and the Safety Certainty 2.0 program.

Empower – Modules that provide a higher level of understanding in mission-critical areas of Project Management, Legal & Commercial, Human Resources and Information, and Communication Technology.
