McMahon Services were contracted to undertake this project due to our versatile capabilities - carrying out a combination of demolition, asbestos removal and building work, and all the time utilising in-house labour, and company-owned plant and equipment. This was beneficial for the client to ensure efficient programming of works whilst returning significant cost savings.
The project was carried out in two stages. Firstly internal demolition works and asbestos removal was required as part of the defit process in preparation for the new internal fitout. A total of 400m2 of existing asbestos floor tiles were removed and disposed of.
The new showroom fitout included the reinstatement of the ceiling, construction of a new office and kitchen, installation of electrical and plumbing services, installation of showroom furniture and floor coverings and painting of all internal wall surfaces.
All demolition and construction works were programmed for five calendar weeks in addition to a lead-time of two weeks for job preparation. McMahon Services completed the project on time and on budget and the client was very pleased with the outcome.
