Asbestos Remediation
This contract involved the removal of asbestos and lead paint from over 100 fully operational buildings throughout the DSTO Edinburgh, RAAF Edinburgh, and MARS sites. An important aspect of this project was the communication between the project managers and Spotless (Facility Managers) and defence personnel to ensure minimal disruption to the tenants whilst work was carried out.
The remediation process involved the safe removal of bonded asbestos sheeting from fully operational buildings and the disposal to EPA licensed landfill.
After the asbestos sheeting was removed the team proceeded to reinstate the ceiling structure materials across the buildings to complete the remediation process.
Lead Paint Removal
In addition to the removal of bonded asbestos sheeting, McMahon Services also removed lead paint and re-painted up to 20 buildings across all defence sites.
This project was completed without any reported incidents.
