McMahon makes short work of tall storeys

Publish Date: 07 October 2011

The Adelaide Advertiser featured McMahon Services in February 2011 as a business going against trend and growing whilst many others were treading water or struggling.

Not only has the business invested in a $3 million state-of-the-art ultra high reach excavator from the USA, it is also on track to turn over more than $130 million in the 2010 / 2011 financial year.

Managing Director David McMahon said interstate growth has helped to boost company revenue.

The investment in the demolition excavator - capable of demolishing buildings up to 12 storeys high - was essential for developing new business opportunities, particularly in the mining industry. It can be used for a variety of demolition projects, from concrete high-rise buildings to steel structures and power stations. It saves a lot of time and significantly reduces the need for manual demolition in many cases.

Mr McMahon said a key to the firm's success was its high staff retention. The business is committed to fostering home-grown talent and it makes significant investments in trainees and apprentices.
