As part of McMahon Services’ commitment to sustainable development and to further build on our existing environmental management initiatives, we are now annually monitoring our energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
We are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and offsetting our unavoidable emissions using Australian Standard (NCOS 2009) compliant carbon offsets.
Our business now effectively operates with a zero net emissions profile, or as more commonly referred to as ‘carbon neutral’.
“Since 2008 we have been actively monitoring and reducing our carbon footprint, and have made a strong commitment to fully offsetting our carbon emissions for the 2010-11 financial year” said Managing Director, David McMahon.
“We recognise that the nature of our business can impact on the environment, so taking the first steps to reducing our carbon footprint is an important milestone, demonstrating our leadership within the industry as a construction services provider” he said.
We will continue to implement green initiatives across our operations in accordance with our ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System and Carbon Neutral commitment to further streamline our resource use and cost efficiencies, reduce our carbon footprint and continue to protect and preserve the environment around us.
McMahon Services will be audited annually by Balance Carbon Pty Ltd.
